ROLE OF NGO's IN DDRR
WORLD VISION UGANDA

World Vision is a relief and development NGO with 15 years experience in 21 districts in Uganda including Northern Uganda, which is afflicted with conflict.
The FY01 budget is US$5 million partly funded by USAID
World Vision has hands on experience and technical competence in Multi-Sectoral community based programmes.
With more resources, would like to scale up programming in the following areas
1 Demobilization and reintegration of child soldiers
2 Vocational skills training for demobilized soldiers
3 Micro enterprise development for demobilized soldiers
4 HIV/AIDS awareness, education, prevention and counseling for ex-combatants and their families.
This includes capacity building of ex-combatants to involved in AIDS prevention.
5 Development of social infrastructure in communities where demobilized child & adult soldiers are resettling eg. Health and educational facilities.
6 Peace education - a reconciliation in communities where ex-combatant are resettling.
